Wining, Dining & Shopping at Crimson's Grand Opening

A big thank you to everyone who dropped by on Friday night for our open house! The event was a huge success and it will certainly not be the last!

A special thanks to Hubert Lorenz of the Culinary Wizard for the delicious appetizers (the baby russets with smoked salmon were divine, but the shrimp n' chip plate was the smash of the evening), and to Paula Mandell for lending her beautiful voice and musical talent to the night's ambiance.

Congratulations to Kathy Grimm, the lucky recipient of our autumn arrangement.

The evening was a perfect way to not only celebrate our new location, but also to give back to a cause that is near and dear. Ten percent of that evening's sales went t0 the Susan G. Komen foundation, For the Cure.

This holiday season, Crimson will be doing our part by pairing up with other local charities. Check back soon for more information.

Beautiful Sunday Afternoon!

Sunday afternoon (November 8) at The Flower Hill Promenade in Del Mar was fabulous!  Isn't it amazing how evocative, engaging and powerful color and texture is?  At Crimson, we love all that inspires.... here are a couple of our favorite local artists that are not only very talented, but are also absolutely amazing human beings.

Heather Roddy, the most exuberant person I know!  This is what she says about her art:  "I love to use color and bounce it around like a music note dancing from place to place on my canvas!" Once you see her work or meet her, this statement makes absolutely perfect sense.

Here is Heather with some of her work!

p.s. Heather's striking necklace was purchased at Crimson!  Yes, we have some amazing jewelry too!

...here is one of Heather's quiet pieces called "Falling Roses" that we proud to have at Crimson.  Our customers have admired the beauty of the flowers framed in gold foil.
Contact us for a special price for our blogger friends!

Oh, almost forgot... see the gorgeous handpainted birdcage pillow - it is surely a piece of art made by Susan Jenkins.  You can see more of her work on http://www.susanjenkinsmorningpaintings.blogspot.com/

We have three of Susan's pillows -

These pillows are an amazing addition to any room for  a punch of color and art. We'd love to give you a special price if you join our blog.... contact us before someone else grabs these beautiful and unique items.

Greg Balogh is another one of our friends at Crimson.  His work is ethereal and calming and at The Enchanted Gallery in Del Mar.  Always smiling, here he is working on still life - I hope the lemons look as real in this picture as they did when I watched him paint!

See the palette he is working with?  Sorry about my poor picture taking skills - Just take my word for it that there is hardly any paint on it, yet I watched him add rind to the lemons... and add the little stem left on the lemon after it got picked.  I am sure there is a better way to describe this, but again, I am not a writer.  He is going to be adding some leaves to this piece and I look forward to seeing the final version.

If you have any interest in learning how to paint in oils... we can help!  Greg is offering lessons!  I have enrolled!  Contact us or Greg if you're interested.

Falling for Fall

Finally October is starting to resemble fall.

Falling leaves, shorter days and blustery wind translate to more time spent indoors.

In honor of this special season, we encourage you to trade in your old, bed sheets for some
new ones!

From now thru November 1st, we are offering 20 percent off our entire Sferra collection. Easing into Sferra's Egyptian Cotton sheets will erase the memory of your old flannel sheets in no time.
